Boost end of year/first of year sales Right Now!

It’s December and 2017 is winding down. We all want to take a break and relax for the holidays and we all deserve to have fun this holiday season. We also deserve to enter January feeling great about the New Year.

Remember the old adage – work hard, play hard? I for one love that philosophy. Life is about balance, we don’t enjoy the work if we can’t look forward to the play and we don’t enjoy the play if we don’t feel like we’ve worked our butts off to deserve it. Too many people start getting lazy at the end of the year and December ends up being one of their slowest months and that can unfortunately pour into January.

Let’s end the year and start the year on the best notes possible!

TIPS TO BOOST YEAR END SALES –

Create Urgency. Why is it necessary for someone to see you and/or do business with you BEFORE December 31? Create a sense of urgency to get more appointments on your calendar over the next couple of weeks.

Give a gift. Book more appointments by asking if you can stop by to drop off a holiday gift. When you drop off the gift be sure to hook them with a great reason why they would be interested in visiting with you for a few minutes.

TIPS TO BOOST JANUARY SALES NOW-

Schedule January appointments now. No matter how busy you are in December work hard to build up January. When your future self enters 2018 with a full sales calendar you’ll give yourself a pat on the back for having the foresight to plan ahead.

Hire an assistant now. Many people wait until January 1 to hire an assistant if they haven’t done so already. The reality is hiring an assistant now will enable you to focus on year end sales while your assistant focuses on building your January calendar so you can come back after the holiday season with a full sales calendar.

At the end of the day if you set goals, stay organized and schedule out your weeks and months in advance you’ll be able to enjoy a virtually stress-free and successful holiday season!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

A Fresh Start for Your Business in 2018

The great thing about a new year is the opportunity to feel as though you can get a fresh start. We can continue to work hard for the rest of December to reach our year-end goals as well as plan for an excellent 2018.

It’s time to reevaluate your business and your goals to get a clearer picture of what it is you are after for next year. Here are a few simple things you can do to start moving in a better direction for 2018.

*Evaluate where you are making your money.

*Evaluate where you are spending your time.

*Now look at the two above and decide are they related? Are you spending the bulk of your time on the very thing that is making you the most money? Or did you just realize you are spending a ton of time on something that isn’t making you any money? Maybe it’s time to shift your focus to the products and services that are your bread and butter.

*Simplify! I know so many people who offer 10 products/services and only make money on two of them – maybe it’s time to focus on the two that are making you money and forget about the rest.

*Who is buying your products and services? Have you sat down to figure out who you are actually selling too? Focus on those type of people. I know a business owner that spent a ton of time and money marketing to the wrong group of people. When they finally sat down to figure out who was buying their products they were shocked. As soon as they started marketing to the right people they doubled their business.

*Evaluate where you are spending your money. Again, this can be a real eye opener for someone who is not paying attention. A friend of mine was spending tons of money on Facebook ads only to realize six months later that all of her clients were coming from her free Twitter account. Make sure every dollar you spend is well worth it.

*Consider – what is bringing you joy? What are you passionate about? Maximize your efforts in these areas.

*Consider – what is causing you stress? What are you overwhelmed by or hate doing? Think about whether or not you still need this for your business to be successful and if so, consider outsourcing it. Or if it’s something that you no longer need to do than get rid of it. Sometimes we have the best intentions and things don’t work out and it’s okay to let it go.

*Make a plan! Now that you’ve had some time to evaluate your business and where you are making money, where you are spending your time and money, and what brings you joy create a plan for 2018.

*Enjoy the holidays and the time with friends and family! You can have all the money, success and material items in the world but at the end of the day is it really worth anything without your family or friends to share it with? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
