Plan for The Best January Ever!

Let me paint you a picture. It’s New Year’s Eve and you are celebrating the excitement of the new year with your friends and family. You are relaxed and enjoying the moment, you don’t have a care in the world so that night you have the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had. Why? Because your January is booked. You can enjoy New Year’s Day because you know that when you head back to work – your January is full of amazing appointments with people who want to get a great start to the year – just like you.

I realize it’s in a lot of people’s nature to slow down for the year. They want to relax and enjoy the holidays but we still have some good selling days left to finish out 2016 and we still have some good booking days left to book out January. Imagine how awesome you’ll feel over the holidays when you know that January is going to be amazing. Then you truly can relax.

Remember the old adage – work hard, play hard? Life is about balance. You need to work hard to enjoy the down time and you need the down time in order to feel good about working hard. Too many people start sloughing off about now and they get caught in the vicious cycle of stress and anxiety in January when they are scrambling to make something of their calendar.

I have always taught my children that if you work hard now your future self will thank you. And it was music to my ears when my 16 year-old child said to me the other day, “Mom, I want to save as much money as I can now for college because I know my future self will thank me.”

If December is going to be a slow month no matter what than work hard in December to build up January. When your future self enters 2017 with a full sales calendar you’ll be even more excited about the new year and you’ll be more inclined to have the foresight to continue to plan ahead.

I’ve made a living helping sales professionals get info front of people and every year I have new clients coming to me in December to hire an assistant to help them get a jump start on January. They want to relax and enjoy the holidays and they are busy now with year-end tasks yet they know how important the new year is.

It’s no secret that planning for tomorrow today can get you far in life – and it’s no secret that you should be spending December focusing on finishing out the current year with a bang while also preparing to start the new year on fire!

We don’t expect you to do it alone. We are here to help if you need it. And if you don’t, we still wish you all the luck and success in the world.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
